THE WORD for the WEEK
Title: Worshiping under “A door opened in Heaven”                            10/1/17
Behold, I saw a door opened in heaven: and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” Revelation 4:1    NLT
The apostle John is the author of the WORD this week in Revelation and it was written in the year of 95 A.D. John was exiled to the Greek island of Patmos as a result of anti-Christian persecution under Roman emperor, Domitian.  The state of the church was represented in John’s vision during that time. All the bad things in the world (Rome) were blamed on the Christians particularly because they did not worship all the idol gods like the Romans; All military divisions, bad weather, political divisions, diseases, and etc.  The book of Revelation used a Roman style of literature called Apocalyptic, which means uncovered or revealed.  The vision John saw while on this island and the persecution all around was God’s way of giving assurance to His people through John’s vision during this difficult time. Although the presentation of Revelation can be imagery and mysterious, John simply wrote this book to reveal God’s plan to His church and give hope to believers that our Lord is King and Messiah. Our Lord is truly sovereign and we, as believers, will be Victorious!
But, today we will focus on Revelation 4:1 specifically; We worship under an open Heaven!
John actually turned his gaze and saw a door stood open. You see, there are other instances in the bible where glances into heaven were mentioned, for example Peter’s visit with Cornelius when he saw ‘the sky open’ in Acts 10:11.  But, in the vision above that John saw, this door stands open all the time.
God wants us to be in Spiritual intimacy with Him.  The way into the presence of God lies open; all who want to enter by faith may enter (Hebrews 10:19). If we “Draw close to God, the promise is, He will draw close to you” (James 4:8). John was to enjoy the joy of redemption even on an Island. Even being on an island could not disconnect him from his LORD. We too should be like John. Even though persecution goes lurking, should not we look for ways to worship our God, all the time? Look for a spiritual awakening to worship on earth as it is in heaven. After all, when we pray we say” Our Father who are in heaven, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:10).
We, at Med-Life-Fit, encourage you to continue along the journey of Lifestyle change. Remember, the scenes of earth’s troubles will always be dispiriting to those who cannot reach the heavenly view-point. Keep looking up and reading your daily WORD in prayer.
