THE WORD for the WEEK
Title: Worship and Praise God, “Thou are Worthy”                            9/25/17
Behold, I saw a door opened in heaven: and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me…saying…Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” Instantly, I was in the Spirit and I saw a throne in heaven and One sitting on it…as brilliant as gemstones. And, around the throne, 24 elders fall down before One that sat on the throne, and they worship One that lives forever…saying “Thou are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power…For you created all things, and for thy pleasure” Revelation 4:1-11     KJV
The apostle John is the author of the WORD this week in Revelation and it was written in he year of 95 A.D. John was exiled to the Greek island of Patmos as a result of anti-Christian persecution under Roman emperor, Domitian.  The book of Revelation used a Roman style of literature called Apocalyptic, which means uncovered or revealed.  Although the presentation of Revelation can be imagery and mysterious, John simply wrote this book to reveal God’s plan to His church and give hope to believers that our Lord is King and Messiah. The victorious Lord Jesus will surely return to vindicate those who live right and judge those who are the wicked.
But, today we will focus on Revelation 4:11 specifically; God is worthy to receive glory and honor and power…For He created all things, and for His pleasure.
Let me set the stage of John’s vision. John saw God on his glorious throne, round about it were 24 elders and 4 living creatures. Whose songs and those of the holy angels and the 7-fold Spirit (representing the completeness of the Holy Spirit), the apostle John heard.
This description denotes wisdom, courage, diligence, and affections that mount up to heaven. All true believers ascribe their present help and future hopes to the eternal and most Holy God. Matthew Henry says, ought we not be like John?  Would we on earth do like him, let our praises be constant not interrupted; united, not divided; thankful, not cold; humble, not self-confident.
We, at Med-Life-Fit, encourage you to keep along your journey of Lifestyle change.  God is worthy to receive glory and honor and power…For He created all things, and for His pleasure. It is not a coincidence that you find yourself to-date improving your temple, the body. Focus however, more importantly on the Spirit. God is the creator and sustainer of everything he created.  He will sustain you too in all the good things you do. Read your Word daily!
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”  1 Corinthians 2:9
