The Word of the Week

“God as Spirit”

February 19, 2018
Our team member “God as Spirit” at Med Life Fit

“Mary, you will conceive…and you will name him Jesus…Mary asked the angel, But how can this happen?  I am a virgin.  The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you,” “The Power of the Highest God will overshadow you”.

What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant…People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is in her sixth month.  “For nothing is impossible with God.” Mary’s response was, “Be it unto me according to your WORD.”

A few days later Mary went to visit Elizabeth… At the sound of Mary’s greeting…Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth exclaimed to Mary, “When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy!” You Mary are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.” Luke 1:31-45   NLT

God had this Master plan that He would reveal to everyone in His own perfect timing. It was known in the Old Testament that Gentiles would receive salvation but it was not revealed that Jews and Gentiles would be comprised in one equal body, the church through Christ Jesus. This is God’s way of bringing His chosen people back to him. Ultimately, God wants to reside in Spirit in each of us. Jesus is the highest revelation of God to us. The above scripture as written in such detail by the physician Luke that when you read it you may jump for joy!

This plan can only be grasp through a supernatural spiritual way rather than a natural human reasoning. Jesus was born sinless, holy, through a woman which makes him human but rather God is His Father. Just as Adam was created sinless by God, he disobeyed God and that sin blood was passed through generations. Jesus has the only sinless blood that stands in our sin place and makes us acceptable to Him.

What’s important about Mary is that she was an unmarried girl who risked remaining single for life, or even prostitution to meet her needs if Joseph refused to marry her. Mary’s story of being made pregnant by the Spirit risked being considered crazy. Yet, despite the risks, she said “Be it unto me according to your WORD.” God was asking her to serve Him and only Him and not man or woman. Our response to God’s demands should be submission and not laughter or doubt like Sarah or Zechariah (Gen 18 & Luke 1:18). God is able to do the impossible and He wants to do the impossible through the Holy Spirit that he arranged in His Master plan years ago. Will you let His Holy Spirit come over you and allow it to overshadow you and let it fill you?

We, at Med-Life-Fit want you to know you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. But, through the power of the Spirit you will live! (Romans 8:12)
