The FULL PROMISE of Resurrection Day

“Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman governor when he said, Are you, Jesus, the king of the Jews?  Jesus replied, “You have said it.”  But, when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent.”

Matthew 27:11-12

At this time, the Roman government had political charge over Jerusalem and the local officials.  The local religious leaders in Jerusalem had arrested Jesus under the charge of Blasphemy which was a theological charge. Because this charge would be thrown out of the Roman court, they had to come up with a political reason to kill Jesus. So, they schemed to accuse Jesus to be a rebel who claimed to be a king and this would threaten Caesar, the Roman Emperor. Pilate was the regional Roman governor over Judea, the place where Jerusalem was located. But, even Pilate found him innocent. He could not find a single fault in Jesus, nor could he contrive one. Isaiah 54:7 says “Jesus was oppressed and afflicted, yet He said not a word.”  He was spitted in the face, beat with fists, slapped and ridiculed and jeered asking “Who hit you this time…Prophesy to us now, you Messiah!” Then, after that, Peter denied Him three times!  I don’t know about you, but I would have felt real depressed and dejected!

So, I ask myself…Why did Jesus do it?  Why did He remain silent and not say a mumbling word against His accusers and spit-fist-fighters?

It reminds me of Psalm 23. “The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want…He maketh me…He restoreth my soul…and yea, though I walk through some things, I will not fear…for The Lord is with me.”  And, that’s all I need. Do you agree?

The FULL PROMISE of Jesus is that He has the FULL PROMISEof God. Jesus never spoke of death without speaking of the resurrection, never spoke of dying without speaking of getting up. Believing in Jesus is Life, not Death. Matthew 16:21 says, “Jesus began telling His disciples…He would suffered many terrible things at the hands of the officials. He would be killed, but on the third day He would raise from the dead (Resurrection Day)”.

We, at Dr. Dowe’s Medical Clinic encourage you during the dark days. Its OK to be silent. Jesus was, too. You can be assured the Lord’s watching. Keep trusting God for the FULL PROMISE!
