Caring For the Least of These

The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and set free the oppressed, to Proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor”

Isaiah 61:1-2; Luke 4;18-19 (The Holman Christian Standard Bible)

God rewards Obedience. The person who has no heart for the work of the Kingdom according to God’s commands will be punished. We must read God’s Holy WORD daily to follow His commands. Those who refuse to read cannot expect to be treated the same as those who are obedient and faithful.

In the above scripture, Jesus went to church (the synagogue) and read the WORD even though he is the Son of God. Jesus attended the local church every week.

At this particular service above, however, he boldly announced his Messianic mission that He was the one who would bring the Good News of Hope in God’s Salvation. Yet, He would be doing it differently. He would come to serve rather than to be served, to help the poor, the sick, blind, lame, deaf and brokenhearted, the oppressed, the thirsty, hungry, naked and homeless, those in prison and those whose minds and souls were captured. These are all called and referred to in Matthew 25:40 “Caring For the Least of These”. Jesus is explaining that there is an importance of “what” we serve rather than “who” we serve. We should love “Our neighbor” or “Every Person” and “Serve Anyone” when possible. Such love glorifies God which reflects our love for Him.

The above scripture undergirds and supports Dr.Dowe Medical Clinic’s  NEW SUPPORT GROUPS called, “TEACHING NUTRITION”.

Too may Americans are overweight and eat unhealthy foods, a problem that falls disproportionately on poor and low-income people. Its been historically blamed on “Food Deserts”-where low-quality grocery stores lack nutritional options like fresh veggies/fruits and sell high-calorie, high carb-sweet foods.

A new study at www.theatlantic.com,business/2018 states that the biggest difference in nutrition is not where folks live but deeper fundamental reasons in income, in education and lack of basic knowledge in nutrition. But, there is HOPE. We, at Dr. Dowe Medical Clinic identify with the poor who lack the ability to apply knowledge in nutrition that helps change their lifestyle, make them feel good and live without diseases. Through a 12-week program you are guaranteed to eat nutritionally, lose 10-20% of weight and be able to maintain for 2 years.   WHEN: May 10th thru July 28th, 2018. COST: Before May 10th $50. After May 10th $60.  TIME: Tue or Thur 6:30 pm and Sat 10 am. Classes held at Norton Commons, Preston and Downtown locations. DR. DOWE
